How did we get Titan Poker's clearance rate? Titan Poker releases $5 of your bonus for every 250 points you earn. Points are earned at the rate of 17 points for every dollar paid in rake*. To earn the entire $2000 bonus, you would need to earn 100,000 points (200 $5 Units * 250 points per unit). To earn 100,000 points, you would need to pay a shade under $5900 in rake (100,000 points / 17 points per dollar).

To get the clearance rate, you just divide the total dollar amount of the bonus ($2000) by the rake you'd need to pay to earn it ($5882) for a rate of 34%.

Is Titan Poker Safe?

This is a critical question for players to be asking before they sign up and deposit money at a room, especially in light of the troubles currently facing Full Tilt Poker and the uncertain future of other rooms. When people ask if a poker room is safe, they're usually asking a few different questions rolled into one, so let's walk through the relevant answers.

Is Titan Poker Fair?

The core component ensuring fairness at an online poker room is the room's Random Number Generator, or RNG. The RNG is responsible for ensuring that no one can predict the cards before they're dealt. Obviously the RNG does not ensure that a system can't be compromised, but it does prevent the deck from being stacked against you.

Titan Poker uses a true random number generator (as opposed to a pseudorandom number generator - read more about the differences between the two). For obvious reasons, the details of their RNG are not public, so players must rely on the word of an independent auditor regarding the security of the RNG. Titan's auditor is TST Global, and you can read Titan's compliance notice on Titan's site.

Fairness also involves assurances that Titan is policing their room aggressively to prevent collusion and similar attempts to cheat games. Again, it's difficult to accurately critique their processes because they're not public; Titan claims to use a combination of advanced algorithms alongside a human detection team to battle cheaters. You also have full access to detailed all records of hands you've played, at Titan encourages players to submit confidential reports to their fraud team.

Is Titan Poker Secure?

Titan Poker states that they employ 128-bit SSL technology via a Godaddy certificate issued to their parent company. The practical application of that security is that all of your interactions with the room - including your hole cards, personal information, anything that involves data passing between you and the room when you are logged in - is encrypted to a standard that is believed to be uncrackable at the current time.

Note that no level of encryption makes a system totally secure, insomuch that the software itself may be still compromised (as it was with Ultimate Bet). With that said, the company that is responsible for Titan Poker's software is PlayTech, a publicly traded company (PTEC.L) subject to a far greater level of scrutiny than a private company. There are no certainties in online poker, but an internal compromise of Playtech software would still count as shocking even in the extremely jaded climate of today.

Are My Funds Safe at Titan Poker?

Titan Poker is licensed by the Directorate of Offshore Gaming of Antigua and Barbuda. The regulations do require Titan Poker to have all outstanding player funds on hand at all times, but it does permit for certain investments to count toward that requirement. Essentially, Titan is allowed by their license to invest player funds in relatively safe ways approved by the Commission. You can review the full requirements for a licensee here We have no proof that Titan invests player funds, only that they would not be in violation of their license if they did so.

That's not necessarily a red flag, but after the Full Tilt fiasco, players are correct to be wary of anything other than an ironclad guarantee. That said, their are no indications that Titan, regularly audited by the reasonably credible Antigua Commission. If you're thinking about depositing a significant amount of money on Titan, you might want to approach them with more detailed questions about the safety of your funds.

Does Titan Poker Have Any Potential Legal Issues?

Titan left the United States market shortly after the passage of the UIGEA in 2006. While they haven't gone as far as Party Poker to mend fences with the US Government, it's unlikely that Titan is of interest to the DOJ due to their post-UIGEA compliance. Titan might have to write a check if they wanted to operate in the US in some future regulatory environment, but there should not be any pending legal threads in the status quo that would impact Titan's liquidity or financial situation.

How Much Rake Does Titan Poker Charge?

Titan Poker charges different rake schedules based on the type of game (limit or no limit / pot limit), the size of the game and the number of players in the game (2, 3-4, or 5-10).

For no limit and pot limit games, the typical rake is about 5%, with worse rate at the micro stakes. For limit games, the rake ranges from 2% at the micros to about 4% at the mid and higher stakes. The rake % doesn't vary based on number of players at Titan - what changes is the maximum rake that the room takes, with the lowest maximum for heads up play and the highest for a table with 5 or more players.

Rather than break down every detail about Titan's rake (they have it available on their site), we'll instead compare their rake to the rake schedules of other majors rooms to see how Titan compares.

Titan Poker Rake vs PokerStars

Titan Poker has a similar rake schedule to PokerStars percentage-wise. That's the good news. The bad news is that Titan has effectively higher rake for heads up and short handed matches than PokerStars, because Stars caps the max heads up rake at .50 per hand as opposed to $1 per hand at Titan. If you don't play a lot of shorthanded (3 players or less) poker, you won't see a huge difference in the rake you pay at Titan versus PokerStars. If you play heads up, you should definitely consider PokerStars (100% up to $600) first.

Titan Poker Rake vs Noiq Poker

Titan Poker has an edge over NoiQ when it comes to limit poker, where NoiQ charges a percent or two above Titan's rake. Titan also has a lower max rake to micro stakes player, but charges a higher maximum rake to ultra-high stakes players. For small to mid-limit no limit games, Titan and Noiq have more or less identical rake. Like PokerStars, NoiQ has a lower heads up maximum rake than Titan Poker, so heads up players might want to seriously consider signing up at NoiQ Poker instead.

Titan Poker Rake vs Party Poker

Titan has a much lower maximum rake for limit players at micro stakes, ranging from .40 to .10 less than the maximum rake at Party. Party also charges about 1% more on average for rake on other limit games, although their maximums are the same as Titan's up until the highest stakes, where Party has slightly higher maximums. The rake at no limit games is roughly equivalent, with Titan charging the lowest stakes NL players pay closer to 6.5% than 5%. Otherwise, their rake schedules are more or less the same.

Does Titan Charge Too Much Rake?

Overall, the answer appears to be no. However, for some play types, especially heads up, their maximum rake is significantly higher per hand than a few of their competitors.

While low rake is an important part of a player's win rate, it's worth remembering that being able to beat the games is generally far more valuable than lower rake. The amount of rake you pay is also mitigated by how much of it you get returned to you through promotions and the like. Long story short: Rake is just one piece of the puzzle that is finding the right online poker home.

Titan Poker No Deposit

We talk a lot about the bonuses available for players that want to make a deposit at various online casinos, but you can also play real money poker at Titan without making a deposit. It's not an offer Titan makes to players directly; instead, it is offered by affiliates who specialize in no deposit offers. Let's talk a bit more about the Titan Poker no deposit bonus.

Long version: PokerNetOnline offers free bankrolls that don't require a player to make a deposit. The maximum value of the bankroll is $150. There are a number of requirements and details, the highlights of which are below:

You must be a new real money account at Titan. If you have a play money account, that's not a problem. If you have a real money account and you make a new one to get the bankroll, you could see both accounts banned for life.
Only one bankroll per household.
You must earn 4500 Titan points before you are able to withdraw any of the bankroll funds. That's roughly $264 in total rake paid.

If you can get a no deposit bonus, why would you ever choose to deposit? Fair question. The problem with no deposit bankrolls is that, for some players, the bankrolls just are not enough money to play the games they'd like to play. You also have to rake a good amount to release the full bankroll, and some players just aren't interested in waiting. Club Titan is the VIP Program at Titan Poker. Like most online poker VIP programs, it effectively serves as an internal rakeback program. Unlike typical rakeback deals, however, VIP programs tend to award very high rakeback rates at the top levels - levels that are attained by paying lots of rake on a regular basis. Club Titan is no exception to this rule.

Club Titan has 9 levels, starting at Iron and ending with VIP Diamond. All players are automatically enrolled in the Iron level, and you move up through the tiers by earning points. Titan Points are earned at an estimated rate of 17 points per dollar in rake paid. Status must be maintained each month by earning the necessary number of points (see chart in next session) the previous month- for example, you need to hit point targets in September to keep your VIP status for October.

Benefits of Club Titan VIP Levels

Each VIP level brings with it a unique set of rewards. The most important reward for players is the point multiplier that starts at Level 3 (Bronze) and increases with each level beyond. At the top level - VIP Diamond - players get a points multiplier of 2.2x, meaning they receive 2.2 Points for every 1 Titan Point they earn. Given that points can be exchanged for cash at Titan Poker (more details on that in a few paragraphs), the multiplier is quite important.

In addition to the multiplier, each level has exclusive freerolls for members of that level, with prize pools increasing as you move up levels. Starting at Bronze, VIP members get VIP Sit and Go tournaments, and the top two levels - Titanium and Diamond VIP - have rake races that ward $5k in total prizes to the top 15 points earners in each level during the month.

How Much is Club Titan Worth?

Our estimates - and they are estimates - are based on trading points for cash. Cash in is almost always a better value than using your points to purchase tournament tickets.

The Titan Poker VIP program Club Titan is worth anywhere from 6.8% rake back at the bottom level to 64% rake back at the highest point exchange level of VIP Diamond. Why does it vary so much? Well for one thing, the point multipliers of the top levels make a big difference, but even the biggest multiplier (2.2x at VIP Diamond) doesn't explain the gap between 6.8 and 64. The other factor is that Titan has a tiered points exchange rate - the more Titan Points you exchange, the better the rate you receive. The difference in rates can be dramatic, as illustrated by the chart below:

So the combination of a better multiplier and holding on to the points as long as possible is what generates most of the increased value for the top VIP levels.

To a casual but steady player, the program is likely worth somewhere between 15% and 37%. Figuring out your likely value is simple. First, estimate how much you rake a month. Next, multiply that rake by 17x to determine your likely points total, and then check that chart to the right to see what level you'd be in to determine your multiplier. Once you've got your total points, refer to the cash in value from the chart above. Divide the cash you can get by the rake you had to pay to get it, and there's your value!

If you've never broken down a bonus like that before, it's quick and easy. The great thing is that once you do it, you'll find yourself using the same basic formula to evaluate every promotional offer a poker room throws at you, and making much better decisions about where you pay your rake as a result.

How Does Club Titan Compare to Other VIP Programs?

This is a difficult answer to nail down for a number of reasons. The big one is that VIP programs are worth wildly different amounts depending on how much play you put in - and how consistently you put that play in.

Over on the left you'll find a chart (click to enlarge) that compares the value of the TOP level of various VIP programs. As you can see, Titan offers one of the best values, edged out only by the mother of all VIP achievements, the prestigious SuperNova Elite level of the PokerStars VIP program.

Low volume players will always do better with a flat rakeback deal, but those aren't available on Titan Poker or on any other iPoker Network room. Bottom line is that Titan offers a very competitive VIP program that is worth a significant amount of rakeback to mid-to-high volume players. Lower volume players won't get the same rewards, but that's true of the VIP programs at all major rooms.

Does Titan Poker Offer Rakeback?

This is a bit of a trick question. Titan Poker doesn't offer rakeback in the traditional sense - there's no flat rate Titan Poker rakeback offer that you have to sign up through an affiliate to get, so in that sense the answer to the question is no - there is no rakeback deal at Titan Poker.

However, Titan Poker does give players various levels of rakeback via their internal VIP program, Club Titan. Everyone who signs up for Titan is eligible to participate in Club Titan, which you can read more about here.

So, in short, you can't get traditional rakeback at Titan, but you can earn various levels of rakeback through their internal VIP program.

Can I Play at Titan Poker on a Mac?

Yes, Titan Poker is a Mac-friendly room. Titan Poker offers players using Macintosh systems to access the poker room via a browser-based Flash client. The flash client also allows additional operating systems such as Linux to play poker at Titan.

Another benefit of the Flash client is the ability to play Titan Poker on any computer without needing to download the software. One drawback, however, is that only Texas Holdem games are available in the no download version of Titan Poker, so fans of Omaha and other variants are out of luck.

Since the no download client is programmed using Flash, iPhone and iPad users won't be able to utilize the browser-based version of Titan Poker. Android devices can access the Titan Flash client, but there isn't a version specifically designed for mobile devices at this point.

Freerolls at Titan Poker

Titan poker actually has one of the thinner freeroll schedules in the online poker industry. The core of the Titan freeroll schedule is freerolls for new players; players will occasionally find additional freerolls serving as qualifiers for promotional events.

New Depositors Freerolls

Players who make their first deposit at Titan Poker are rewarded not only with a deposit bonus, but also with four entries to Titan Poker's New Depositor Freeroll. The freeroll runs twice a month on Thursdays at 20:00 Titan Poker time. Each freeroll has a prize pool of $2,500.

You have three months to use all four entries or they expire. Entries will be credited to your account manually within three days of your first deposit.

$50 Beginners Freeroll

Running twice daily at 12:00 and 23:20, these freerolls have a prize pool of $50 and are limited to players who have signed up in the preceding 90 days.

That's all they offer currently for freerolls, so you might want to try a smaller room like NoiQ Poker - they offer about a dozen freerolls per day for players. In general, you're going to find more freerolls at the smaller sites than the major networks these days, as freerolls have fallen a bit out of favor with top-tier traffic rooms.

Who Can Play At Titan?

Titan Poker has two core restrictions on customers: Age and Location.

Age: Players under the age of 18 are not allowed to register at Titan Poker or play for real money.

Location: Players from the following countries / regions are not allowed to make accounts or play for real money: Afghanistan, Antigua and Barbuda, Bulgaria, Cuba, Cyprus, Estonia, France and its territories, Hong Kong, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Italy, Kahnawake, Libya, Macau, Netherlands Antilles, Republic of Serbia, Sudan, Syria, The Philippines, Turkey, and/or The United States of America and its territories.

A related question: How many accounts can you have on the iPoker Network? Since there are many rooms on iPoker, including Titan, William Hill and Bet365, are you limited in the number of accounts you can have? The answer is no - you can have accounts at as many iPoker skins as you want.

Every online poker room has a user agreement longer than your arm, and Titan Poker is no exception. We gave it a good read and found just a few things with noting, listed below.

If you don't play for real money for 180 consecutive days, Titan reserves the right to charge you an 'Inactive Account Fee' (listed below) every 30 days. If you don't play for 12 consecutive months, Titan can close your account and freeze your funds; you have 5 years to request their return. Inactive account policies are not uncommon in online poker, but they're not ubiquitous either.
How much could it cost you to leave your account dormant? The monthly fee schedule varies by currency: $5/£5/€5/R50/DKK35/NOK40/SEK50/AUD7/CHF5.
Titan Poker's privacy policy is clear and unambiguous: Titan does not share any of your personal information with third parties, except for government and qualified regulators. Their policy outlines a clear set of actions for removing yourself from all email communications.
Titan's website does log IP addresses, but not email addresses
Only one account is allowed per household
Not relevant to all players, but the maximum monthly cashout from the Titan Casino winnings is $9,990. When Titan says month, they mean 30-day period. This limit is not applicable to poker winnings as far as we can tell.
Poker bonus funds can't be used for casino or sports wagering. If you do so, you lose the bonus and any winnings generated from betting the bonus.
