Breaking Down the First Deposit Bonus at Titan

Titan Poker claims to have the best first deposit bonus in online poker.  A quick look doesn’t reveal anything to undermine that claim –  after all, 200% with a maximum of $2000 isn’t bad at all for an online poker bonus.

The bonus is slightly different depending on the currency you use; Titan essentially awards you a bonus with a maximum based on the current conversion rate for the dollar and your currency.  The first question people are going to have about the bonus (the standard bonus code for Titan Poker awards the 200% up to $2000) is the clearance rate.

The clearance rate, if you’re not familiar with the concept, is the rate at which a poker room moves your bonuses from the theoretical to the actual.  Poker room bonuses aren’t typically put into your account immediately –  it’s one of the biggest fine print clauses in poker –  instead you have to basically earn the bonus.  As you play at the room in real-money games, you earn rake.  As you’re paying rake, the room releases the bonus into your account, usually in small increments.

The Titan Poker bonus provides a good example of how this system works.  Let’s say you deposit $500, meaning you get a bonus of $1000.  That $1000 goes into your bonus account.  Titan moves $5 from your bonus account into your actual account every time you earn 250 Titan Points.  You don’t have to spend the points, just earn that amount.  Every time you earn 250 points (which requires about $15 in rake), you get $5.  That makes for a clearance rate of right about 33%, which is the best clearance rate available of the sites we surveyed.

You have 60 days to earn the entire bonus or the remaining amount in your bonus account is voided.  That’s a fairly standard time frame, although given the potential size of the bonus it might be a bit restrictive.
